High School newspaper publishes editorial by Christian student who argues that homosexuals should be put to death because the Bible says so (For more info, click image or here; Found at Slog)

The big story here is not so much that there are Christians who are taught to believe that homosexuals should have no rights because of a line in the Bible — we’re sadly used to that — but that a school newspaper printed his opinion and then afterwards the school punished him for it.

The school is absolutely at fault here. The editor and faculty adviser had the opportunity to refuse to publish this piece. He stated his opinion, and then he was punished for it. Not only does that make a martyr out of a bigot, but it teaches a dark lesson to all students about the limits of the First Amendment.
